Australia: Councils banning bottled water

Thousands of public servants are being told they won't be provided with bottled water and they shouldn't bring it to work either.
The Department of Environment and Climate Change is telling staff to refill their water bottles at the tap.
A vote will go before Manly Council next month to follow suit.
John Dee from the Bottled Water Alliance says it's a great idea.
“About 60, 000 tons of greenhouse emissions are caused by that, and for every litre of water that’s bottled we use about 200 millilitres of oil. So we really need to reduce our use of bottled water.”

Ottawa Water Study Action Group - next meeting May 27
OWSAG is working on a campaign to encourage Ottawa City Council to stop supporting the bottled water industry and rather, encourage the consumption of tap water. Sign a support letter at here.
